SPRING UPDATE - CALLING ALL SKATERS BCN

The sound of skateboards rattling down the sidewalk, dogs barking and friendly conversations in the markets are the signs that summer is right around the corner. More and more skaters begin to hit the streets of Barcelona this time of year and the Calling All Skaters staff and I are excited about the opportunities coming up this season. Our vision as a ministry is to be immersed in the skate scene of this city, sharing Gods truth and Love with the people we meet. I ask for your prayers that the spirit of God would continue to grow in us a love for skateboarders and that during this season we would continue to see lives transformed. Summer is almost here, but before it arrives I want to give an update from the last few months!

CREATIVE NIGHTS

As you may know, each year Calling All Skaters runs a discipleship training school through YWAM Barcelona, this years school is going on right now. While the school was here in Barcelona I was leading them in a weekly art/creativity night. Imagine an art class for skaters where we are working together to discover our creativity and seeking to know God more through the creative process. My heart for this is that the students would be able to process through the ways God is working in their lives and learn to share those truths through an expression of art. I believe that co creating with God is a powerful way to influence culture and bring light into dark places, this is especially effective in an already creative community like that of skateboarders. The students love creative nights and God has been teaching us a lot during these times, we have even been able to invite non believing skaters to join us for creative nights. I am really blessed to be surrounded by a community of artists that are passionate about Jesus, we are excited about the future of our ministry and this connection with skateboarders and their art.

Here the students were asked to pray for someone on their team and create a collage as a way to encourage and affirm that person based off of what the Lord was speaking.

LOCAL MINISTRY

Living in Barcelona opens up constant opportunities to meet new people and share the reason I am living here. When I talk with other skaters about my faith and tell them about our community of skateboarders who all follow Jesus I am reminded of how unheard of this is. Just last week we hosted a BBQ at a local skatepark and I was telling a friend about the Calling All Skaters discipleship program, this girl is not a believer and was blown away by what I was telling her. She said "I had no idea there were so many Christians skateboarders", this led on to a really cool conversation about what it is to truly know God relationally through faith. These "little moments" of seed planting are what God has called us to do amidst the people we love. We will continue to host these barbecues at the local skatepark to bless the skaters and build relationships with them throughout the summertime. Please pray for our next BBQ that will be held on June 29th.

A HEART FOR THE CITY

Recently we have decided to devote Monday mornings to pray at the most populated skate plaza in Barcelona. The plaza is called Macba and we are spending time as a community to intercede on behalf of the skate community, we chose Macba because it is at the heart of everything skateboarding in Barcelona and we want to see Gods kingdom come here and spread throughout this city.

PRAISE REPORT

Hopefully most of you have already received this news, either way it is worth celebrating. My visa renewal was recently approved, this means I have another two years to legally serve in Spain. God is so good and really taught me a lot about trusting Him during the waiting time. Thank you so much for all your prayers and support during the process of reapplying.

PRAYER POINTS

- The Calling All Skaters discipleship school - They are currently in the UK finishing their lecture phase before their outreach. Pray for strength and wisdom for the leaders and growth and fruitful ministry times for the students

- Local ministry here in Barcelona - Pray that God would expand our ministry and bring more people into our community eager to grow spiritually, and that we would have Gods guidance in planning our summer ministry. Also for the overall spiritual health of our staff and their families, more unity, love and passion.

- PanamaLab photography ministry - That God would continue to bring photographers together who are eager to colaborate and that God would give me more opportunities within that community to disciple and share Gods truth.
